Been a while trying to put some fires out!
I have been busy doing some private gigs and such but recently I have had to deal with a problem that nobody should have to deal with. I had a Treo PDA that I turned off data service with Sprint only to get error code 67 where it would wake me up at night and do this constantly. I called customer service and they had techs call me and could not fix it. I was told by one rep that they would turn data on again and not bill me. Guess what got a bill for the data. This went on for about three months from around Sept 2011. Finally I had had enough in December 2011.
I have been in contact repeatedly with an executive representative who at first refused to make any adjustments for my time and aggravation until she found out I had it and switched cell phone service then was willing to make a deal. Give me a break.
They tried to stick me with early termination fee but they waived that but I am ticked about money they say I owe them. Considering I have at LEAST 25 hours of my time trying to fix the unit, responding to phone calls and emails, going to the store i(where I was told by a rep these are the only kind of phones you can use and nothing can be done),and aggravation. From being woke up in the dead of night repeatedly and jerked around by Sprint customer service, I feel this is unjust and intend to fight this.
I would be interested in hearing from folks that have had to jump through hoops like this.

July 4th at Chevy Chase Retirement Home
We performed for a real nice group of people on July 4th. I wanted to write about it as the clientele was older folks and we really could not rock out as hard as we usually do but that was ok. I was touched by some of the people in wheelchairs and some infirm that had such a great spirit due in large part by the good work the home staff and their interaction with the tenants. Many times we musicians focus on our pay (or in some cases) lack thereof; but when you see someone in the autumn of their lives with such a happy outlook and they smile and say thank you; it just hits you inside and makes it all worthwhile. I am grateful for the experience and would recommend to all my peers that they try it sometime. It will change your outlook.

Eric has the night off so we are going to do a trio which is always fun especially If you like to mix it up musically, These guys throw about 13 different genres at you. Pretty much everything except rap and hip hop. Not our thing mind you.

Change of Direction
It has been an interesting year and a half to say the least. Like many folks, Buddy was laid off his regular job and has been looking for work (like many people). Times being what they are, he has had to improvise and built an online presence which is now starting to show some results. They have been able to achieve a number 1 natural ranking at this time on Google, AOL, ASK, BING, Hotbot, Lycos, Netscape, and WebCrawler for their search term “original music download”. They are currently ranked #2 on Yahoo, All The Web, and AltaVista.
Having had to “switch” from a 40 hour a week “regular” job to doing this has been a Change of Direction; to use one of Buddy’s songs. A total learning process to say the least. Buddy is hopeful to get the word out any way he can and looking forward to picking up the performance schedule in the next few weeks.

Time to get crackin
Got bunch of new songs to work on and have been laying off my practice schedule. Cold weather has a tendency to make one get what I call “hibernation syndrome” or basically just plain lazy. Bad habit to get into.
Anyway going to get back on the good foot as have many jobs coming up and SPRING is coming!. Did I say that SPRING is coming?!

After taking some needed time off and a short hiatus from the music scene, we are getting ready to pick up where we left off and start playing out again. Buddy is working with several bands as well as his own group having a “second childhood” he is having so much fun. We will be rehearsing some new tunes along with some familiar ones with some old and new friends. Hope everyone had a great winter and even better spring.

Free original music download
What started out as a hobby became a full blown music project during 2008. Guitar wizards Buddy and Ivory were jamming one day as they often did many times since they first met over thirty years ago. During one session, they had an idea to record some original music. They both had spent years in bands and had performed many songs by other artists and thought it might be time to do their own thing. It was a spur of the moment decision and really “nothing but a thang “you understand. Just a hobby.
That was until Buddy was laid off when the economy tanked and jobs were scarce.
Recording the drum tracks first in a local studio, the duo pieced together the music one track at a time by overdubbing each vocal, backup vocals, all guitar parts, bass, and keyboard parts to create ” Rough Cut”; an appropriate title as this was all done on a rough cut budget. The finished product was sent to a Las Vegas studio for professional mastering. With a little help from some musician friends, they put together music which unexpectedly attracted a wide variety of listeners and fans.
Buddy and Ivory both feel their music is unique in the sense that it incorporates a blend of collective experiences from many artists and genres to create a blend of these popular styles. As a result, Buddy Ivory has captured the imagination of people everywhere. In a very short period of time, they have thousands of Myspace fans and are selling the music in stores worldwide. As a result, with what started as a pastime has transformed itself into a serious music venture and taken on a life of its own.
They have made their r&b song titled “Nothing But A Thang” available for free download. They would like to invite you to check out the sound and download some music. Typically most musicians do not release free music but Buddy Ivory want to reach more people by sharing music.
